RFC HISTORY

The History of the Racing First Championship dates back to 2016 and 2017 when a few friends decided to race each other competitively at local Go-Kart tracks and compete for points and a "championship." Jadden Smith, Trent Sellers, and Colton Mathis were the first three drivers to enter in the RFC along with John Chasteen of North Carolina.

A few years go by and the RFC is first named the Karting Series of the South by the small group of drivers competing. The series ran one year (2018) with this name and then in 2019 renamed itself to "The League of Champions." This name carried on until 2024 when it was renamed once again the the "Racing First Championship" also known as the RFC.

In 2018, leader of Racing First, Jadden Smith won the championship. Then an amusing 3 years go by with Colton Mathis claiming the top title winning. The first 4 years of the RFC were undocumented. Points were kept on notepad and pen and points were determined by finishing order.

2021 was missed as a year due to the changing world after the COVID-19 pandemic had raged through the United States. This caused a few shake ups and some time off for Racing First to start developing itself.

In the 2022 RFC season, Colton Mathis came back as strong as the last two seasons, winning the title. However, another competitor joined the show in 2023 and will return for the 2024 season, Jackson Councilman.

A strong start to all the drivers RFC careers, the 2025 RFC will determined at a later date.

A strong future ahead as the RFC looks to expand its championship first to other dates within the year, as well as future expansions locally withing Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee.
