2025 Daytona 500 Qualifying

The 2025 Daytona 500 is on Sunday February 16th and there has to be a way to start the race. Today, 45 drivers ran one lap to set their qualifying speed to set the duel races tomorrow. The finishing positions in the duel races tomorrow will set the starting lineup for the Daytona 500.
Tonight, the top two drivers will be locked into the front row of the Great American Race the the 2025 Daytona 500 Qualifying time trials and two more drivers (out of nine of the 45 total) will still need to set their starting position, but will be locked into the 500 based off of speed.

Toyota seemed off in Qualifying after Denny Hamlin led the first practice in the morning.
Ty Dillon has an amazing lap grabbing 5th.
2023 Daytona 500 winner Ricky Stenhouse Jr fails to qualify in the top 40.
Only one Hendrick Motorsports entry makes the Top 10 to move into round 2.
Ryan Blaney did not have the lap his Penske teammates held as he qualifies 20th and his teammates grab 3rd and 4th.

A cooler car runs a little better. Austin Dillon’s #3 got to sit and rest the longest between rounds.
The Fords that were in the final round ran faster than all the other cars except the Toyota of Chase Briscoe.
Chase Briscoe was several hundredths faster than everyone else in both rounds of qualifying.
Toyota wins the pole for the Daytona 500 for first time since they entered the sports in 2007.

The 2025 Daytona 500 will run this Sunday to open the NASCAR Cup Series Season.
